Saving Files

It is important to save your work often. Also, you must save your project before you can run it.

Saving Files

Periodically, it is a good idea to save changes to an application that has been saved previously but now contains unsaved changes. The Save command saves the currently opened page and the Save All command saves all the pages in the project.

To save changes to the currently opened page:

The changes to the currently opened page are saved automatically.

To save changes to the entire project:

The changes to the entire project are saved.

Saving and Renaming Files

The Save As... command lets you save and rename a project. This can be useful if you want to change an existing application but still want to keep a copy of it in its original state. For example, you can save and rename test1.jmb with the name test2.jmb and you will have two identical applications with different names. Make as many changes as you like to test2.jmb and you will still have a copy of the original test1.jmb.

Be aware that the Save As... command creates new . jmb, . html and . jtf files with the new project name in the current project directory. This operation does not create a new project directory structure. If you need to give your application to another author or to an end-user, you must use the Copy Project Wizard to copy all of the files used by the project. For convenience, you can launch the Copy Project Wizard from the Project menu or from the Save As dialog.

To save and rename a file:

1. Make sure the Project window is active.

2. Choose Save As... from the File menu.

The Save As dialog box appears with the existing . jmb filename highlighted in the File Name field.

3. Enter a new filename.

4. Click on OK.

The dialog box is closed and the new name of the file appears in the window title bar.
